We want every guest to have a wonderful experience at our Lake Nantahala retreat! Because this home is located in a beautiful, secluded mountain setting, there are a few things to know before your arrival.

Mountain Roads & Accessibility

Our home is located in the beautiful North Carolina mountains and is accessed by mountain roads, including an unpaved gravel road. Some roads and the driveway are steep, but they are generally accessible with a standard two-wheel-drive vehicle during normal weather conditions. Please drive carefully and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery along the way!

Shopping & Groceries

The nearest town is Andrews, North Carolina, approximately 25 minutes away by car. We recommend picking up groceries and supplies before arriving so you can settle in and enjoy your lakeside getaway without unnecessary trips into town.

Winter Weather

Snowfall in this area is generally limited, but occasional winter storms can make mountain roads impassable. Roads in our immediate area are not routinely plowed, and guests could potentially be snowed in for several days or unable to reach the property. If severe winter weather affects your reservation, rescheduling or cancellation may be necessary, subject to the applicable booking and cancellation policies. Please consider this when planning winter visits.

Seasonal Ladybugs

During certain periods in the spring and fall, ladybugs or similar small beetles may occasionally find their way inside the home. These harmless seasonal visitors are common in mountain areas and typically do not survive long indoors. If any appear, they can usually be easily swept or vacuumed up.

Internet, Television & Power

We provide Starlink satellite internet for Wi-Fi and streaming, along with DISH satellite television. Because of our mountain location, occasional service interruptions are possible. The property also features a whole-house backup generator for added convenience during electrical outages.

Lake Activities & Safety

Guests are welcome to enjoy the provided kayaks, paddleboards, floating water mat, and life jackets. Swimming, fishing, and other lake activities are available right from the property. Children should always be supervised near the water, and we strongly recommend wearing life jackets during all water activities. All lake activities are undertaken at guests' own risk.
